Case Study

Canadian Labour Congress

The Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) approached Longship to help determine what should be done with their web site, workrights.ca. Aimed at all working Canadians, and intended to help workers to identify their rights with regards to pay, overtime, health and safety, termination and other work related issues. Longship undertook a facilitated discovery session with senior executives at the CLC along with research from the field including field representatives, and a random selection of Canadian workers. Based on our investigation and the understanding of the CLCs business goals for the site, we were able to formulate a long term plan for workrights.ca.

Longship was then retained to plan and design the new site, creating an online reference for all Canadians, but targeted mostly at younger and new workers who may not have the support of a union in understanding their rights as workers.
