Canadian Union of Public Employees
Originally selected through a competitive bid process, Longship has been working with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) since 2011. Our initial contract was to help gather requirements and plan the new CUPE.ca national web site. Working with CUPE, Longship investigated CUPE’s web presence and its audiences’ needs through a series of exercises. These exercises included facilitated discovery sessions, focus group sessions with CUPE members in the field, online surveys and usability studies, analytics evaluation and more.
Longship helped identify many of the challenges facing CUPE’s current web presence and has worked with CUPE to address them and to plan a new web presence that will better support CUPEs business goals, while reducing internal workload and communications challenges.
Erik was invaluable in helping us work through our internal challenges, and helping us set priorities and key goals for our online work as an organization.
He then worked with us to make sure that our plans for our online presence - from information architecture to design - reflected those goals, and that key stakeholders understood the trade-offs that were being made at all stages of the process.
